Open Import maps funds in the upload wizard before giving import processing starts. Older import providers still use the separate fund-mapping screen.

  • Spreadsheet values: distinct fund names detected from import rows
  • Planning Center funds: open and closed funds available in your connected account

Mapping Methods

Magic Map

Magic Map runs automatically when Map values opens and again after you create missing funds in bulk. It only fills empty choices:
  • A spreadsheet fund whose name matches a Planning Center fund is selected. Matching ignores letter case and whitespace, so Building Fund and building fund are treated as the same name.
  • A fund with one close name match is pre-filled and flagged for review.
Choices you make yourself are never changed by Magic Map.

Manual Mapping

In Map values, choose the Planning Center fund for each spreadsheet fund name. Closed funds are labeled (closed) and Port reopens a selected closed fund during preparation.

Create Missing Funds

The Create funds button in the Fund value group’s header lists every spreadsheet fund that is still undecided. Tick the funds to create (or Select all) and choose Create N funds. Each ticked fund is marked Create under its spreadsheet name, Magic Map runs again for anything left, and Port creates the funds in Planning Center when you choose Start import. A create choice used only by skipped rows does not create a fund. The same button appears for every other column that allows creating — Campus, Payment Source, Labels, and Category. To create a single fund or rename one before it is created, open its Map values dropdown and pick Create “…” as a new fund. Port opens a fund-name field beside the selection, defaulted to the spreadsheet value.

Saved Fund Mappings

The wizard saves your last mapping and reapplies it on future imports. Saved create choices are resolved by fund name: after Port creates the fund, the next upload selects that existing Planning Center fund instead of creating a duplicate.

Rename and Delete Funds

Rename or delete existing funds in Planning Center Giving settings. Refresh the wizard afterward so its dropdown reflects the current fund list.

Excluding Funds

Choose Exclude — not tax deductible for a spreadsheet fund such as a coffee shop or merchandise fund. Port preserves the spreadsheet fund name, passes it to fund preparation as non-tax-deductible, and resolves those donations without posting them to Planning Center as deductible gifts.

Completion Requirement

The import can start when:
  • Every fund value is mapped or excluded, and
  • At least one mapping to a Planning Center fund exists.
An upload where every fund is excluded is rejected because there is nothing to import.
