# Choosing a Provider

> How to choose the correct giving provider in Port

Choosing the correct provider is critical because each parser expects specific columns.

## Rule #1

Pick the provider that matches the export source of your file.

If your source is not listed, use **Open Import** and map your data to the template columns.

## What Changes By Provider

* Required headers
* Optional supported fields
* Address parsing behavior
* Tax-deductible/check/refund behavior
* Whether Open Import-style template download is available

## If Your Source Is Not Listed

Use [Open Import](providers/open-import):

1. Download the template from Setup.
2. Move your source columns into the template structure.
3. Upload and continue with normal giving flow.
